Are Over the Counter Anti Aging Products Effective?

It's being reported in the news that the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) has completed a study suggesting that not enough research has been conducted to prove the effectiveness of over the counter anti aging products. On the other hand, popularity of anti wrinkle creams, and the like, continues to grow at an unabated pace. No doubt, a frantic need among baby boomers to emulate youth fuels this inexorable trend.

While acknowledging that vitamin C, alpha-hydroxyl acids and pentapeptides have been shown to be the most extensively researched and proven to offer anti-aging benefits, effectiveness of several other ingredients commonly used in skin care products remains inconclusive. Such recently popular ingredients, falling under the heading of botanicals, as grape seed extract, green tea, soy formulations and Gingko biloba may show some promise, but their healing qualities have yet to be established through randomized, placebo-controlled human trials.

Also, moisturizers, which do provide hydration and improved skin appearance have not been scientifically researched to any great extent.

As you might expect, the good doctors opine that compounds present in prescription formulations frequently are preferable. Beyond that, the organization advocates surgical procedures to assure achievement of the desired outcome. The latter, of course, is to be expected as well.

I was reading as an anti aging. Acai, blueberries, cranberries, and bilberries for 10-15 times the amount of antioxidants as can be found in the fruit alone.&nbsp. Which is very useful who wants to take care of their healths.

Acai berry is being called anti-aging wonder. Why? Because it effectively fights free radicals and what causes againg in the first place.

I hear that acai is a new fruit that is supposed to be effective in anti-aging. I think this fruit is well worth looking into if you’re into health.
