Just about every day I scan the major internet news services to keep abreast of trends in anti aging research, product launches and the like. Probably no era in recorded history has ever witnessed so much seeming promise for extending the life span. It’s an unfortunate fact that age discrimination in the U.S. work place remains rampant despite clear legal protections in place since 1967. In my opinion it’s high time for employers to shed all notions of bias against older workers.
Current population trends demonstrate that the U.S. workforce will continue to shrink. Older people today are generally healthier and more vigorous than their earlier counterparts. The ensuing explosion of an aging baby boomer population has not become an issue in the current presidential sweepstakes. It’s being reported in the news that the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) has completed a study suggesting that not enough research has been conducted to prove the effectiveness of over the counter anti aging products.
