Yes, Fish Oil is good for Heart Health

There's an awful lot of hype about what's good for heart health, and many claims in the supplement market that are questionable. However, there's a good bit of solid research supporting the conclusion that omega 3 fish oil offers a number of benefits. Take a look at the article that follows for some insight into the research behind fish oil.

Fish Oil that's Good for Heart Health and Research

Fish oil for heart health is an interesting topic. And there is a good reason for this.

Newspapers and magazines can't do without research news on the amazing health benefits of fish oil for heart health. It is highly recommended by doctors, nutritionists, trainers, exercise buffs and even my vet has recommended using fish oil capsules for the heart health of my pet chocolate Labrador, Phyto.

Indeed a lot of us have heard of the good health benefits for the cardiovascular system that omega 3 fish oil has, but not all are aware of the scientific research that verifies the results of the fish oil for heart health craze.

Information was printed in Circulation, the American Heart Association's official journal, which provided systematic and detailed reports on how omega 3 fatty acids from fish can help enrich the circulation and reasons why fish oil works perfectly for the health of your heart and cardiovascular system in several ways.

The study showed that fish oil fatty acids can help in decreasing cholesterol, avoid irregular heartbeat and reduce blood clots. It also lowers blood pressure and triglycerides and balances HDL and LDL, loosens the arterial walls and inhibits the development of new plaque and inflammation, vasoconstriction, platelet aggregation and a lot more. [Vol. 106:2747]

Remarkable! How some scientists have even suggested that a depressed person can get help from omega 3 fish oil. It is good for the broken hearted.

Some group of doctors made and published a study in the Journal of American Medical Association talking about the positive effects of higher fish oil consumption on decreasing a man's risk of coronary heart disease (CHD). Yet, it has been observed that more women die of heart attack than from any other cause, so the scientists were interested to know if women can get the same health benefits from fish oil as men do.

They followed 84,688 women in a span of 16 years and they were able to arrive at a conclusion that women who ate 5 or more servings of fish a week have lesser risks of CHD or dying due to a heart attack as compared to women who eat less fish. [Vol. 287, No. 14]

If you ask me, it is very clear that fish oil for heart health is essential. But how much would you need? The usual recommendation is 5 or more servings of oily, cold water fish a week. It is great and will surely improve your heart health, but then again it may not be enough. Many researches do recommend at least 1 to 3 grams of fish oil daily for a healthy heart.

The only sure way that you get this is through supplements of pure omega 3 fish oil capsules that will give you a balance of all the eight naturally occurring omega 3 fatty acids.

Now you can see why a lot of people are recommending fish oil for heart health. The question is, will you do something about it? It would not be that hard to improve your health and it can be worth all the effort. Don't you find it nice to have a pain free, happy, healthy life while you grow old?

Of course it is! And it may start this moment, if you take action and follow this advice.
