Maintaining Youth Consciousness in the Aging Process

Should we have to admit to an inexorable popular bias toward the young that requires us to mimic youth? Permitting ourselves to absorb the profusion of media buzz, attesting that we who are aging can look young again, has us believing that there's nothing more to it in order actually to feel young.

These blandishments do nothing, of course, to alter our views and core beliefs about ourselves. No one would contend that persons who are aging should refrain from trying, within reason, to appear well put together outwardly. Acting and feeling old in keeping with negative stereotypes about becoming older that sadly abound in our society is not a requirement.
